I just have to share the cover of a soon-to-be-released book by a few of our favourite authors. It wins my vote for best cover this year. I just want to stare at it - but then I'm kind of a cat person!
If you want to find out a little more about this book (it's set to be released in the fall) head on over to
E. Lockhart's blog .
I think we have settled on Tuesday, June 16 at lunch for our Book Club wrap up. All members, junior and senior are invited and we will commence the festivities at 11:45 or so.
What do you do at book club?
ReplyDeleteWell, book club can involve many different things! Our NORMAL meetings will consist of sitting together and talking about what's new in the library AND I love to hear suggestions from book club members of what students would like to see on our bookshelves too! We also talk a lot about pop culture - movies, music, and trends in society. Then, whenever I am able, I try to find a crafty thing that SORT OF ties in to a literary or book theme in some way. That way you have an option of participating in a hands-on activity if you are so inclined. AND, once in a while, when I am really energized ;) I organize a PARTAY for book club members - usually around holidays and year-end. Long story short, you DO NOT have to be a super-duper reader. We DO NOT all have the homework of reading the same book. You DO NOT get in trouble if you miss a meeting. I DO NOT put you on the spot and ask you to talk if you are shy. You are welcome to come try it out! Listen for an announcement regarding our first meeting (probably a Tuesday at lunch.)
